Special issue in ACS Chemical Neuroscience

We at ACS Chemical Neuroscience are excited to announce the 5th installment of our Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience special issue series, in partnership with the International Society for Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience. We invite you to submit to this year’s MMiN special issue, “Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience 2022,” edited by ACS Chemical Neuroscience Associate Editor and MMiN Advisory Board Member, Prof. Leslie Sombers. This issue will be broadly promoted and highlighted by ACS Chemical Neuroscience and the American Chemical Society. As we are a not-for-profit scientific society journal, there are no page, color, or figure charges to publish with us. At authors’ discretion, we offer a broad array of competitive open access options (http://acsopenaccess.org/).

ACS Chemical Neuroscience offers a rapid peer review process overseen by an editorial board of active research scientists. We welcome the submission of original research Articles and Letters, as well as Reviews, Perspectives, and Viewpoints. Ideas for submissions, which do not need to be directly related to content presented at the MMiN Meeting, can be discussed in advance with Leslie (sombers-office@chemneuro.acs.org). We particularly welcome your ideas for Viewpoints that chart the future of the field. If you have questions regarding formatting, guidelines, or the submission process, please do not hesitate to reach out to eic@chemneuro.acs.org

The deadline to submit is November 1, 2022. Accepted papers are published online in ASAP format, typically within 48 hours of finalizing page-proofs. The curated special issue will appear in the first half of 2023. This will be a “virtual special issue” meaning that articles included in the special issue will be contain a note that they are published as part of the “Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience Special Issue,” but are collected together on a separate webpage instead of being published in a single issue of ACS Chem. Neurosci. We’ve found that this virtual special issue format is equally well read and cited as a traditional special issue, and we will be widely promoting it to our journal community. The virtual special issue format allows us his to assign issue and page numbers to your article as rapidly as possible following web publication.

Please note that you will need to create an ACS ID (completely free to do so) to log in and to submit. When submitting, please select “Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience 2022” from the special issue dropdown menu. This will tag your manuscript for the special issue and ensure expeditious processing and review. Please note that publication is contingent upon favourable peer review.
